During the current crisis there can be no weddings but if you are thinking about arranging a wedding for when all this is over, do get in touch with Fiona (see below).

You are eligible to be married at Christ Church if one of you lives in the parish or is on the electoral roll. If neither of these applies, there may be other ways in which you qualify, just ask.

We are fortunate to have a beautiful church in a glorious setting. No wonder then, that it is a popular wedding venue! We welcome enquiries, and aim to make your day very special. Your wedding day is one of the most important in your life.  As such it deserves the best of preparation not only in the practical details but also in the preparation of yourselves for the public commitment that you are about to make to each other.

We would like to encourage you to use the period before your wedding to reflect upon the things that will form the foundation of your life together. We would love you to join us on a regular basis for one of the Sunday services, but that would have to wait until we are free of the Corona Virus. You are going to take your vows in the name of God; but what sort of God and what relevance does he have to daily living?

Hundreds of people who worship with us find in their faith a firm basis for the way that they relate to each other, run their homes, define their priorities in life and bring up their children.  We would be delighted to welcome you to explore with us the importance of Christian faith and experience today. We assure you of a warm welcome.

We trust that your wedding day will be full of joy, and we do all that we can as a Church family to see that this is so.

Planning a wedding in church takes most of us into unfamiliar territory so, as a first step, do contact our weddings coordinator, Fiona Shore (01923 282744 or

We offer Marriage Preparation prior to your wedding, and all sorts of other support to help you plan for the day and for your life together.
