Join our vicar and other members of Christ Church at some of London’s key historic Christian sights, under the expert guidance of Ben Virgo on a tour organised by our good friends Ilona and Peter Greyling. Meeting on the steps of St Paul’s Cathedral, our tour goes on to begin at Paul’s Cross which was the most common meeting place in medieval London and where William Tyndale’s New Testament was burnt in 1526. We will cover a square mile where once approximately 120 churches were located, also visiting the Martyrs’ Memorial at Smithfield Market, St Bartholomew’s Church, and St Botolph’s Church where there is a wonderful memorial to the conversion of John and Charles Wesley. We will walk through Postman’s Park and view the location of the Old Bailey, together with other interesting locations. An optional extra lunch will be available at Café Rouge, across from St Paul’s, where the tour will end.
