Children’s Ministry Update

As we find ourselves in another lockdown, we appreciate how difficult it can be with having Children at home, especially when you are having to juggle working from home and home schooling. Be assured that we as a team are praying for you and that we are still here for you should you need any support.

In practical terms lockdown has meant a suspension of our services. This means that we have no face to face groups taking place. We are really sad about this as we really enjoy seeing you all on a Sunday.

While there is no face to face taking place within the children’s ministry there are still a few things we as a team are doing/can do to encourage and support you as a family.

As part of our 10.30am online services this term we will be looking at the Armour of God, as outlined in Ephesians 6 v10-18 in the Church Family News slot towards the beginning of the services. Each week we will be looking at a different aspect of the armour and how this can be used in our daily lives and our walks with God.

We will be regularly be posting out resources, crafts, letters etc. to those families who are on our ChurchSuite database. If you are not on ChurchSuite, or if you are unsure whether you are, do get in touch and we can help you with this.

We are also sending our birthday cards with a few goodies, particularly as we know how tough a lockdown birthday can be! Again, if you are not sure whether you are on our ChurchSuite database then do get in touch as we don’t want to miss anyone out!

While we can’t run our groups we are still here as a team to support you and your family during this difficult time. The National Youth Agency has been providing regular advice and guidance to those who work with Children and Young People throughout Covid-19 and, in line with their guidance, we are able to offer walk and talk sessions with families who have children under 5, this can consist of a socially distanced walk around the common or else where in the local area. If you do not feel comfortable meeting then we are still here as a team for phone calls, or even zoom calls, just to catch up with you as a family. If you are interested in either a walk or a call do not hesitate to get in touch.

We do hope that as lockdown measures begin to ease later in the spring that we will be able to be back in the building for our Sunday groups, as well as the long awaited return of our midweek groups, Lighthouse, Illuminate & Going Deeper. We will continue to keep you updated via the newsletter and the notice slot in the services of any changes as they occur.

For more details about any of the above information, or if you would like to book a walk and talk session, or a phone call, do not hesitate get in touch with either Brianna, our children’s minister: brianna.ricciardo@cccw.org.uk or Alistair, our assistant children’s minister: alistair.bassett@cccw.org.uk

What you see below is our normal program that is suspended during the coronavirus precautions

Kids of All Ages

At Christ Church we believe that everyone, no matter how old or young can know God’s love; His love is not limited by if we can walk and talk, or read or write – it’s far bigger than that! We want children to experience church as a place of fun, laughter and love, and to walk with them as they journey with and discover Jesus.

Christ Church Kids runs groups during our 10:30am and Church @ 12 Sunday services. Our 10:30am groups are:

Pebbles

You can safely leave those aged 0-2 in Pebbles. There are songs, craft activities, story time, snacks and plenty of toys. Sign into the group by the Pebbles room where we encourage you to leave your children with us and enjoy adult church. You’ll receive a number which if you’re needed by your child at all during the service, will pop up on the screen for you to let you know.

Scramblers (ages 3-5 or Nursery-Reception)

Climbers (school years 1-2)

Explorers (school years 3-5)

In our age appropriate groups, this term we are looking at a BIG Life with Jesus. We want children to lead BIG expansive lives, grow up to be BIG people that lead and influence in every area of their BIG lives. Believing in a BIG God and making a BIG difference!

SUNDAY MORNING CHECK-IN

Before church starts, sign in your kids at the registration table- lookout for the leaders in our red ‘Christ Church Kids’ team t-shirts. We then worship together as a church family in the service before heading off to our own groups.

Church @ 12

Christ Church Kids @ 12 runs during our Church @ 12 service. We love to play LOTS of games together, do crafts and have a chat about God. We worship together as a church family in the service before following our kids leaders into our group.
