We are at last delighted to confirm that we are able to hold our Annual Bereavement Service this year in church on Sunday the 1st of November at 3pm! We had anticipated that the service would have to be cancelled completely because of the pandemic; however, patience has been rewarded in this instance, and we can go ahead albeit with a slightly altered format.
These changes are out of necessity to conform to existing Government and Church of England guidance in order to restrict unnecessary contact and movement within the church. We will not be able to hand out and allow the lighting of individual candles, though we will hold the usual Act of Remembrance with dignity and the lighting of a solitary candle to represent all. We will also require each person wishing to attend to sign up – here, please. An email will then be sent to you outlining the attendance procedures currently in operation for all of our services.
There will also be an opportunity to view online if this is your preference. To live stream the service, visit the website home page on the 1st November, where there will be a link on the homepage.
The service will remain, as always, a peaceful and reflective opportunity to come into our church and remember your loved one. If you would like your loved one’s name to be read out during the Act of Remembrance roll call, please email the Church Office firstname.lastname@example.org, stating in the Subject Line: Bereavement Service Roll Call. Thank you.
We look forward to welcoming you.
The Bereavement Team.
